so, my slfo2 is dead/bricked. Has anyone ever revived one? mine just does not turn on even though it is plugged. Im thinking maybe the battery is dead, and might re-wire it with a usb plug and try it like that. will my idea work?? I just want it to come back to life again.  let me know if any of you is in my situation and revived one.

What you need to do is find a tutorial or guide on opening S:flo2 then measure the battery dimensions (including the thickness). After that start searching on eBay for smartphone batteries which appear the same size. Once you find a battery which looks close google the battery model number for its actual dimensions. That way you're not ordering blindly or guessing. Maybe the BA700 battery we use for the J3 replacement will fit.  The first step is carefully opening the S:flo2 and observing the situation.

S:flo2 has a rather big battery that is actually two 3.7V Li-ion stack next to each other for a combined 7.4V. I doubt you can find a replacement easily. I found one Taobao seller that sells it: http://world.taobao.com/item/520363915704.htm?spm=a312a.7700714.0.0.fGL8JD#detail
 
Unfortunately shipping Li-ion battery oversea is neither easy nor cheap.

Nah, forget it. Like ClieOS said the unit uses 2 batteries joined together and at that each pack is a rather strange size. Unless you can get the s:flo2 powered by an external usb powerbanks Its probably time to put it to sleep. Buy DX80, problem solved.

No, it doesn't have the same voltage. As I have mentioned, S:flo2 uses two li-ion stack together for a combined 7.4V - to do that, you need a special PCB that will charge them in the right voltage and won't blow them up. If you simply short two 3.7V li-ion together, they might turn into IED. Plus I highly doubt those Moto battery will fit.

I bricked mine a couple of times while trying to reinstall the firmware. To revive the player I followed the instructions on mp4nation's website written by maderin I think his name was. Somehow hitting the top left reset button repeatedly got the firmware process going and the player came back to life. In my experience with these players it is not usually the battery that fails but some part of the electronics that won't allow the player to power up except via a mains charger. Be very careful if you decide to prise this player apart as it is very easy to damage internal components or injure yourself. From what you describe it is probably the firmware being corrupt that has rendered the player inactive rather than a failed battery which would power up using a charger.

same here, I started taking the transit and now i miss it even more. Im using my sansa clip + fiio e6 and it feels like its misgiving something. I hate sflo for not fixing the issue. Im thinking of buying the Xduoo X2 or x3 but i dont want to be disappointed with the sound.

It's good that I have kept it safe like a diamond. Once a month or so, I listen few minutes of my favourite flac music from its Linen Out. God is still there.
I might be willing to sell it for a bomb.
