Haha...of course i'l pick er-4 over UM2. I was initially planning to upgrade from UM1 to UM2, but after i compared it to er-4, no way i am gonna spend $299 USD on UM2.
Er-4 is good, but i still think grado 325i is better

Anyway, i am getting a new tube amp soon, probably in the next few weeks. Let me know if you are interested in trying it with your gear.

By the way,i reckon nick will get an imod at some point too... poison.....

, did it take long to get your iMod? 3-4 weeks?

I'm planning to order mine when I receive Dr. Xin's mail for my SuperMicro. I have a 60GB 4thGen lies waiting with a friend of mine in CO.

I was shocked when i got mine, didnt expect to be so quick. Vinnie is by far the best person i've ever dealt with so far online. Great service from the 1st day you bought imod. Thumbs up

nah i think it was about 2 weeks, including return shipping, which is fantastic!

one thing tho - the headphone jack is a bit loose. my lineout has trouble staying in, but the lineout connectors (neutriks) are a little bit smaller than various earphones i have. not vinnie's fault of course, but the fault of my ipod, or are all ipod headphone jacks a bit loose?

Just plug in any old headphones to burn em in, as long as you have a load you will burn in the Line out components. Now waiting for your amp (new even) and headphones could kill 3 birds with 1 stone and 200 hours.

loose ? i am not aware of that. Check with D_4_dog, see if he has the same problem

Wow, that's a lot faster than I expected. I also use neutrik for DIY ic, maybe canare will do.

You guys think upgrading the battery to this worths it?

I'm personally always wary of "too good to be true." A ten year guarantee on a consumable like a battery? I'd wait for some customer satisfaction stories before taking the plunge with companies with those claims. Then again, it's but a mere 34 bones .... Let us know within ten years how their guarantee works!

ok, i seem to have a real problem with the connection thing. ipod has got this pause when the headphone gets pulled out, so it keeps pausing. i think both the ipod and the neutriks are are to blame.

is it possible that the headphone jack has come loose from overuse? is there any way to fix it?

the imod itself sounds pretty sweet after this stage (60 hours burn in). still not as good as when i heard it last. hopefully it'll burn itself in sooner rather than later.

the constant pausing is due to your cable. i've had good and bad cables, and the good ones i don't have any problems with, but the bad ones are just as you're experiencing.

no. the ipod has a feature where if u pull out the headphone, the music pauses. sometimes when i touch the loose headphone jack, it pauses the song, and i have to press play for it to start again.

yeah it's because your cable is not properly soldered... so when you slightly move your ipod, it pauses because the cable is not feeding a signal into the ipod, which is just the same as unplugging the cable...

u may be right, but i move the wire around around and nothing happens - it's only when i touch the mini jack on the ipod end... it's not a big deal - it doesn't happen very much, but i'm just worried that the connection is so flimsy and it might cause problems in the future. if the problem is with the ic, i can get a new ic easy, but if it's with the ipod, i'd like it to be fixed asap, if it can actually be fixed.

also, got a question: i installed rockbox on it. with rockbox, can i put songs straight on the hard drive, or do i still need to use itunes?

i'm still having a few problems with the imod.

the battery doesn't last even an hour with rockbox/flac.

also, ive had it freeze, and twice, the right channel would stop working and i had to reboot the device to get sound out of the right channel again.
