He probably meant the used market.
I like your signature setup..Considering the MSRP is $1,700 and years later it's ~$1,200 used, it's amazing that they have been able to hold onto their value for so long
Kudos to Sennheiser for not being greedy and releasing an HD800S "Phi TC" version that destroys the value with marginal improvement

The R10 really that good?

Why in the heck none have the soundstage and imaging of a decade old headphone.
We have loads of headphones that cost about 5k and none can clearly claim they have larger soundstage or better imaging than hd800.
Sennheiser can well sit out for a year or two more before doing something new.
Yep, a new flagship is a must!As much as I love the hd800, the Utopia has even better imaging and more realistic, holographic soundstage (especially with binaural).
That said the hd800 is incredibly good. And are much more comfortable for my large head.

Sennheiser stop pu$$ying around and get serious in this high-end market!
Great, more planars to flood the market.. -_-That might be hard for Sennheiser as Axel Grell Linkin Page shows he has left Sennheiser, and now has become audio consultant.
Though there is this planar patient thing from Sennheiser https://patents.google.com/patent/DE102016108598A1/en
