Anyone here use it, and recommend it? Is it worth the $69.95, or can I find something less expensive that does the same thing(s). Thanks

Last time I tried Roxio software it screwed my system all up. Personally I use Nero

My vote goes to Nero as well. Roxio has made CDs that could be played in some CD players but not others. I never have a problem playing a CD created by Nero. You can get Nero on eBay for fairly cheap.

I used to use ECDC, but I switched to Nero a while ago and haven't looked back.

to keep my post relevant:
i used to use Roxio, b/c it came with my PC and was easy as cake to use. However, after talking with some headfiers, I learned that supposedly the quality of the music was severely hampered using Roxio, and while it did have an easy interface, NERO can burn just about any type of media you want:
VCD
CD
DVD

etc

OT:
I am sorry to hijack this thread. if you like, ill remove this and post elsewhere. but since there are so many Nero users, maybe someone can shed some light on this subject:

in the past month or two, every time I try to copy a music CD using Nero, there is an error that says something like "your database is corrupt" and therefore it will burn the CD but without the song titles/album info, even if it recognizes the album and lists the tracks. This problem did not occur at first (maybe 6 months?)

any clue how to fix this? must i reinstall Nero?

thanks!

EDIT: doh! I'll have to look tonight for what version it is...i believe 5.0 (but not sure beyond that...if it is 5.0.xxxxxx)

you mean you didn't go the Nero website and download the free upgrades? the upgrade will probably fix your problem.

chances are your problem is related to window player - it has taken over the associations.

Roxio sucks. That's all there is to it. Not only does it badly record cd's, but after I had it for a while, it suddenly came up with some kind of problem and had to be reinstalled. That's when I decided to end all of the suffering, and down- ahem- bought nero.

my feelings exactly. roxio software has sucked even before roxio came into existence. i am an old school 100% hater of easy cd creator. maybe it forever burn in hell.

nero is damn good for most things and i use it fairly often. it's come a long, long way. cdrwin has slipped into the land of suck. if you're not using exactaudiocopy for copying audio cds, you're a moron and should switch immediately.
