The 955 is a slight update to the 855 which hails from 1989. I had a 855 and it was fine and very quiet in operation, though $130 for a 15/16 year old CD player looks a bit steep now.

I agree. The 955 was a classic in its day. Unfortunately, its day has long since come and gone. Give this one a pass, there are better deals to be found.

I used to own the 995. Its more like eight-nine years old. (Replaced it with an Ayre CX7.)

I recommend auditioning it in your system. See if seller will come down to 100.00.

I own a 955 and it is a great CD player, but I don't think it is worth $130. Mine has a drawer problem, in that the drawer goes back in after it is open. This is a common problem with the 855s and the 955s.

For the record it is 14-15 years old

I stand corrected! I plead "Senior Moment."

I used to own the RCD-991.

I agree with everyone that 130 is way too much for that unit.
