Rosson Audio Design RAD-0 - Alex's Beautiful New Baby

Can you elaborate why it isn't for you, please?
Tonally the RAD wasn't for me. Found everything else fine. Bass could have been more then I would have been happier with it. I'm into bass headphones. Out of my collection the HEDD has the least but it is tonally correct for me.

It might be redundant to ask, but I trust that you tried different headphones to exclude Pro iCAN?
Yes i verified it was not my ifi. I used my Primaluna and tried both of my cables. Driver is bad. I finished my listening with my Kennerton without issue.

Alright, good to know it wasn't your iFi amp. Also, I'm sorry to hear about that driver.

I've been doing research into headphones and the Rad-0s seemed like something I might be interested in given the description, but with COVID and quarantines, it's obviously a challenge to get out there and hear them for myself. I have a pair of Campfire Audio Cascades I'm burning in right now to pair with a Mjolnir 2 and Bifrost 2 setup. Those of you that have handled the RAD-0 and/or the Cascades, would you consider it a meaningful upgrade given the price difference? To be clear - I understand we're talking about different price level headphones so that might seem like a dumb question, I'm just curious to hear thoughts about the jump itself with these headphones in mind.

I wasn't particularly in a rush, and had been considering the LCD-X and the Ether 2s at a later date, but in reading up on the RAD-0s and knowing they're a limited run (particularly in colorways of interest short of doing something custom with Rosson), I figured I'd ask people that know a lot more than me about it, and see if it was something I should be looking to jump on.

I received my 4-pin balanced cable from Rosson Audio today, along with a pair of spare earpads. Rosson Audio is nice sending the items along with other stuff they sent to their associate in Hong Kong, so I didn't need paying for expensive shipping fee. A very nice customer service I would say .

This mod gives more air, slightly better soundstage, bass kick better, more treble, better detail, faster traisient.
For me is quite big upgrade.

For those people who are having difficulties finding compatible cables (due to 3.5mm connector size and odd pinout)....have to DIY this one.

These Oyaide 3.5mm long/slim connectors (designed for Ultrasone phones) fit perfectly.

Lovely work with that cable. At first I honestly thought it's made by one of well-established cable makers, seriously :)

Really appreciate that! Coming from one of the absolute most respected brands in the hobby, it certainly is a hell of a compliment! :beerchug:

It took a fair bit of research to find the perfect length connector to fit into the RAD-0s barrel; between that and the off-kilter wiring, not the simplest set of cans to do this on!
