Am I wasting my time trying to stretch a plastic headband?? It's been stretched over a big pillow for 24 hours with no change. I'm going to try to take a heat gun to the the bands, maybe that will loosen them up. If not its back to Amazon they go.

Stretching the elastic loops like that should help, you might want to take them out of the headphone to stretch them.  Here's the service manual if you feel like going that route http://media.bestquestions.com/bestquestions/media/db/9352/k612_k712.pdf

I dont think a pillow will do it.... If you feel it needs stretching then thats what it needs!

You can stretch the bands. Grab them together, stretch them outwards with your hands, the thumbs in the middle. Use a little force, you won't break them.

I got the K240 Sextett LP's now. Oh my gosh, my new favorites. They sound SOOO good.

well I knew they were better than the modern ones. The main differences between the Sextett and the Studio to my ears are that the studio has an odd reverb effect, good but less refined mids, more grain in the treble, less warm, slower, and less accurate soundstaging. But then again, its much easier to drive, build is only a little worse, the cable is detachable, and you dont have to risk buying used and getting a broken pair. Overall, the Sextett is basically better in every way IMO if you have an amp or receiver to drive it.

I actually have the EP so it sounds quite different then the modern studio version.
oh the LP and Studio do sound a lot different. But certain aspects of the sound are similar.

I own the 501 and the 601 and I'm looking to expand the collection. 7xx, Annie, or 712?
the k1000 and 812 will have to wait!
