So you'd think that sets a trend for the x40's to be open and x70's to be closed, but nope the K140 is closed
 
I think that's it, unless there are more exceptions somewhere 

 

K140 comes in two flavours, one closed, and one open/semi-open.... just thought you needed to know... you know... to help you sleep at night.

LUCKY DUCK. What you using to drive em? I heard they need like 20 watts?

I'm currently using an Asgard 1, which puts 1 watt I believe. It sounds great to me, but I'll try it on other amps at the LA meet next week. I had my friend use them at the SF meet and he said they were amazing out of the Liquid Gold and Mjolnir, which I think put out around 8 watts.

My AKG K142HD's had broke after 8 months of use. The soldering inside the headphone had failed, cable was fine. 
 
Just brought the headphones home from service yesterday, AKG/distributor gave a brand new pair, pretty nice!
