Hi everybody! I currently have an 30GB iPod Video, and hate being locked into using iTunes. I have tried most of the Windows and Linux application which claim to be able to replace iTunes, but have found them all to be lacking in some way. I recently found this forum through Google as I am planing on buying new headphones. I noticed that a lot of people on this forum appear to be liking Rockbox, however I have one question before I try it.
Is there any way I can have Rockbox read and save ratings, play counts and last played times in ID3 tags, or is it only possible to have this in the Rockbox database?
If I can not save these in ID3 tags, is there any other way I can keep these in sync with the ones in my audio player on the computer? Preferrably foobar2000, but I would consider switching to something else also, as long as it runs either natively on Linux or using WINE.
Oh how I wish the industry would just settle on one way on doing this simple thing...
