Hi all. I like certain types of rock, and was wondering if anyone knew of any other bands that sound similar to these?

I enjoy:
Metallica
Judas Priest
Megadeth
Rammstein

Back at college two years ago, one of the local radio stations played German Heavy metal, and I loved it!

Any Suggestions would be great.

~Thanks

Iron Maiden is a bluntly obvious answer, you also might like Hard Rock outfits Led Zeppelin and AC/DC, you like Megadeth so you'd probably enjoy Slayer as well, and perhaps Black Sabbath

You should try out Iced Earth and Blind Guardian also

Thanks for the suggestions!

I have heard a few songs from AC/DC, and wasn't that crazy.

My library has one by Dio and Slayer, so I'll check them out.

~Thanks

You may also like a band called Deadsy. Check out their cd Commencement.
Also definitely check out Helmet. I would either get thier cd Betty or Meantime to start with. Oh and I echo what others have said about Iron Maiden. Well worth getting any of their stuff prior to fear of the dark...imho.

Another worth checking out is Static X, Wisconsin Death Trip. You may even like Type O Negative.

For some sweet metal guitar, check out Dragonforce, Avenged Sevenfold (I hate their vocals though) or some Alterbridge (Creed without Stapp rocks hard)

I started working in a guitar shop recently and all we listen to is hardradio.com. I used to listen to a lot of hardcore and heavy metal but switched to other stuff. It's really reminding me why I loved those crazy shredders.

i can suggest a lot of good metal bands, some sound like your faves, some dont. all are brilliant.

kyuss (blues for the red sun)
monster magnet
opeth (youll love these guys with good headphones)
fear factory
arch enemy
testament
biohazard
corrosion of conformity
helmet

all pretty obvious (and not incredibly recent) picks, give them a go and itll lead you to more obscure places

There is so much good metal, but I'l stick to bands similar to the ones you named.

After all (sounds a bit like judas priest)
Anthrax (well........ you might like it)
Cathedral (Dark and gloomy, vocals remind me of mustaine)

Other bands definately worth checking out:

1349 (This makes me think of the color black)
After Forever (female vocals, gothic, not like nightwish)
Arcturus (Gloomy vocals, violins, piano, etc)
Emperor (The emperors of black metal)
Falkenbach (nice vocals, folk metal)
Haggard (medieval, female and male vocals, violins, and whatnot)
Immortal (hell yeah ! this is what I call metal)
Impure Wilhelmina (soft, loud, heavy, another favorite of mine)
In Flames (I don't like it, but some I know rammstein fans like it)
Kitty (All female band, should I be ashamed for liking them ?)
Kreator (Uhhm hard to explain)
Leatherwolf (heavy metal, not much more to say)
Meshuggah (Unusual rythms, it's different than most metal)
Metal Church (Oldskool heavy metal)
Moonspell (Gloomy vocals, choirs. Check out Memorial their new album)
Morbid Angel (Dark gloomy powerfull stuff)
My Dying Bride (Dark, Gloomy, Dark and sad)
Napalm Death (Bald grampa's, heavy rotting vocal, anti-everything)
Nevermore (Amazing vocals, one of my big favorites)
Old man's child (regular black metal)
Strapping Young Lad (LOUD, powerfull, gigantic, enormous)

And much much more.

you mention German Heavy Metal. Does not get much better than Kreator or Destruction. Killer earlier thrash metal. I can recommend their earlier releases, but have not heard their more recent stuff.

thanks for having a link to the Boston meet, I did not know they were having another one.
