Been listening to Cohen's discography to honor his memory. You want it darker is amazing, both for SQ and content. The SQ of his first few albums (Songs... to New skin...) are equally great. However, Death of a Ladies Man sound horrendous and some of his tracks mid career, including Hallelujah, has synthesizers that seem discordant with his soulful voice and lyrics. Just curious if others share the observation that his bookend albums seem better produced than his mid career ones.
