Ahhh, it's good to see that the spirit of Christmas is alive and well.

Go with silicone. They last longer. The vinyl will start to harden and shrink after a few years. This "can" cause the seal to not be as good. I switched this year from vinyl to silicone for my set.

Definitely true.
This is why I don't buy electric guitars with vinyl pickguards. Heck. I don't even like guitars with pickguards!

Because Flavio used the UM3 for search engine results (very smart man!).

Yeah, "3" is a bit of an unfortunate choice of name when it comes to seaching.

By the way, what's the story with the delayed UK shipments? I was really looking forward to getting mine early next week, then I find out that the date has been put back to 15 December

So to those who have heard them so far...

I have my triple.fi's, and I have my Denon D5000's. But I'm sorely tempted by the W3's. Would it be worth selling both of those just for the one pair?

No. Keep the D5000 and sell the Triple.fi only, and sell something else but not the D5000.

Damn, the rest of the money is going to have to come from somewhere else. Are they really worth leaving behind the triple.fi's?

Thanks p0wderh0und.

Sounds like you may have Headphone Addict thinking about switching to silicon from his beloved vinyl UM56's, too.

Did you notice any SQ changes, when you switched from vinyl to silicone?
-anything at all?

Honestly I did not. It was more a comfort thing.

So, silicon it is!

Thanks for your dedication to Westone's Head-Fi customers.
It is appreciated.

PS: just had the following thought:
"Man, I'd like to have your job, right about now.
More fun than last year, eh?"

MS Live cashback is currently 20%. And, the EBay 10% is a one shot deal; I imagine most have used theirs.

Best you can get now is $320 USD, with cashback 20 percent. Plus, add back in the 3.9 paypal free and shipping. Might as well buy them from Earphonesolutions, who does ship down under, right?
