Thank you sir!  I'll need some time to better evaluate the sound.  The only thing that really comes to mind right this second is that it sounds very analog.  None of that sharp digital edge.

congrats!  i saw one at the ny audio show on saturday and it is truly beautiful looking.  unfortunately, it wasn't set up for demo at the time i was there.

Thanks Marty!  Don't worry, I'm bringing it to the June NY meet, so I'm sure you'll get to spend some time with it.  My HE-6 rig is pretty damn amazing now.  The gap between the HE-6 and e'stats closes dramatically with a high-quality amp and source.

Have you seen this?  Someone created an app for the logitech touch that give it usb or spdif output up to 192/24.
I tried it (spdif) last night the it took < 5minutes.  I find the touch a lot more compelling a digital streamer/interface than having a clunky PC with usb.

The h/w was capable all along, but logitech never enabled anything above 96/24.

Seems like a pretty interesting idea.  Sad to say, but for various logistical reasons, it's really not currently viable for me to mess with any of the networking features.  I probably won't be able to take advantage of those features until next June, when I'm at liberty to set up my own home network the way I want to.  By that point, Resolution might have the uPnP features ironed out.

Congrats indeed. May it serve you as a decent temporary solution until the inevitable Debussy Paganini Scarlatti

You don't want to know how tempted I was by the Debussy.  I found one one used in 9/10 condition at a very fair price (relative to it's new price).  Now that I'm assembling a Stax rig though I'm allocating my "hobby" funds to that.

Still haven't listened to it, but I was surprised by how small it was.  It's not much larger than the Invicta (if you subtitute the Invicta's depth with the Cantata's width and vice versa.)

I haven't heard the dCS Debussy, but somebody told me that it has a bit of that harsh digital glare/edge.  Not sure what to make of it, but at any rate, it's only really hearsay until I hear the thing for myself.  That thing is definitely a serious slab of sexy from an aesthetics standpoint.  I still think the Cantata looks better, though.

Interesting size comparison, though I remember the Invicta being pretty small.  According to the site, the Invicta is 8.66" W x 11.10" D x 1.97" H.  The Cantata is 17" W x 9" D x 2" H.  The Invicta runs much hotter than the Cantata though.  I remember putting my hand on top of the Invicta at CanJam, and it was not a pleasant experience.  The Cantata top surface gets uniformly warm at most.

Let us know what you think once you've had a chance to listen to it!

Yeah... as I mentionned here too :) http://www.head-fi.org/t/571248/ref-9-pcm1704uk-multibit-dac-vs-fun-da1852-1-bit-dac-both-audio-gd-short-impression/15#post_7753447
The cantata is the best I have ever heard.
However, I would be very curious, if somebody has the chace to compare it directly to another well implemented PCM1704 x4 or x8 design, like it is currently made by audio-gd.

As their interior design looks fairly similar, and their 8x 1704 - DAC Ref. 7.1 costs just a comparatively ridiculous fraction of the price of a cantata. And as far as I can judge from my (inferior) Reference 9 (4x 1704, only rca output), this stuff sound just very very very nice, too. However, it doe not look fancy... So. I have heard both, and both impress. The cantata even more. But I have never had the chance to compare them in the same environment.

If money would not matter, cantata would clearly by my choice, however, of course together with the matching power amp.

I've just recently started to listen to music again through the Cantata, and realized I really missed its sound. There's nothing like listening to some good music while looking at the gorgeous design. Companion was a small pour of Nolet's gin with a twist of lemon. Entirely off-topic here, but I've become rather fond of Nolet's - inexpensive as good beverages go, impeccable nose and perfect on the palates when tamed a bit with lemon peel. I compare its finish with the textured decay of Sinatra's vocals on What's New (the word "bit" from the "What's new, how is the world treating you? You haven't changed a bit" verse, at 0:48 into the song) - vibrant, coarse and pensive at the same time. Rendering by Cantata via Cavalli LL and SR-009
