Here's the deal. First of all take a look at my eBay feedback link and notice the negative feedback from htauthority. I purchased a pair of D2000's from htauthority. However we exchanged some e-mails and he refunded my money. This was all done in a very polite manner. Then all of a sudden a week ago, the seller decided to file an unpaid item strike on me for absolutely no reason. I tried to get in contact with him in every way possible and never got a single response. I was then hit with an unpaid item strike. I am appealing the strike right now as I have hard copy proof that I paid for the item and that he even refunded me the money. The only thing is he left such rude negative feedback for me for no reason. Is there any way to get eBay to reverse this when my appeal goes through? It's unfair that a dishonest seller were to do this. I have no idea why he would want to as it doesn't benefit him at all. Hopefully eBay can help keep eBay a honest place to buy stuff and keep the dishonest dealings away. Let me know if you guys have any solutions.

Use the mutual withdrawal form. It didn't work for me, but it was because my negative was a long time ago.

With me it was the exact opposite. I accidentally sent the guy the wrong item, tried to contact him, never could, and then BAM... negative feedback.

That's the thing. He's a prick and doesn't answer any of my messages. I'm sorry I had to resort to insulting him, but he doesn't answer ANY of my messages that regarded any of the situation.

I don't understand. If you paid for the item, then how did eBay allow an unpaid item strike to be filed against you? As far as I'm aware, an unpaid item strike can only be filed if you won the item, and then didn't pay for it. But you did pay for it. . . the refund shouldn't make any difference.

Have you contacted eBay to ask how this managed to get through?

I flogged this address from another thread here on head-fi, thanks to whoever it was that put this up. eBay Search: Find Contact Information

Search for his details and harass him. He is fair game, those are the rules of the jungle as far as I'm concerned.
I've never had to use this feature of ebay so I'm not sure if it will help.

Why have I seen this happen so much lately in people's feedback? Sellers refund the money then hit the buyer with an unpaid item dispute. People suck.

Good luck mate, I hope it works out.

I ask because, as in the previous post, I use it all the time when I have ebay trouble. You can get there phone number. Go to "Advanced Search, Find member, Get contact info. Enter the item number and ebay will message you their phone number. Use it wisely...

I think it's because if they refund the money, eBay sees it as an UNPAID ITEM. HOW RIDICULOUS IS THAT. I've noticed that with a few other refunded items, but never ever thought it would be used against me like that. Here's a screen shot of what the page looks like to me signed in:

I don't even know if eBay will reverse the feedback. This guy doesn't pick up the phone or answer messages.

Are you sure it's his message bank? If so, go nuts, every hour on the hour and random times. Eventualy he'll get sick of it. Only way to get you to stop is with a court order, (use a phone box) or removing the neg. That's the kind of thing I do, stick up for yourself!

But I mean, negative feedback could be from other things other than non-paying bidder. I'm just saying that eBay can't really remove a negative feedback because what the comment says is untrue. Weird, but that's how I think it goes. They will rightly remove the unpaid item strike against me, but the negative feedback will be hard to get them to remove.

I've been with Ebay over 10 years and perfect feedback. I'm sure I've had some luck on my side regarding idiots.

Sadly Ebay is so enormous (so that's their excuse) they do not try to fight for the right thing. Even Paypal still answers the phone and for that matter is usually very helpful.

You may have to bite the bullet on this one. I can tell you I strive to do business w/ people w/ 100% feedback. I do take it as low as 97 98 depending on the amount of feedback they have. That is because I know there are idiots out there who will defame someone for no reason. The same way some vote on items they never intended to pay for in the first place. Good luck!

What happened with the D2000 anyway? Why the refund?

He allowed me a refund because I was going to be out of town when he already shipped it, so it would have been returned to him regardless because UPS would have sent it back to him. He only partially refunded me, taking about $50 from me for restocking fees and shipping, and I didn't even complain one bit because it was my own problem. And then I was hit with this ridiculous thing. I guess I'll just have to accept it.

I just hope that people don't see my reply to the negative feedback as a lie and consider me the idiot instead.
