Anyone know what the output impedance of the P1 is?
Not sure of the exact value, but according to correspondence with TJ, it is less than 1 ohm.
Perfect, thank you
Wondering what different characteristics the OPA1662, LME49860, LTC6241HV and LMH6655 in the P1. Currently have a V5i in there, and I'm wondering if there will be any differences...
The differences are subtle. The 1662 and 6655 are quite neutral. The 49860 is technically very accurate but somewhat warmer in nature. The 6241 is sometimes called the "solid tube". Nice all-arounder. All have superb square-wave response which I consider a mark of excellence in opamps. Also, all are quite thrifty on quiescent current requirements.
Hope this is of some help to you.
Hmm, probably will get the 1662, 49860 and 6241 to play around with. Seems like the 6655 is slightly redundant (and the 1662 is cheaper).
Anybody heard from TJ? Tried to PM him a couple of times with no response.
Those are good choices.
Also his website has been down since a few days ago. He is probably busy developing a new DAP with a screen and a swapable battery.
Just picked up the A1 and looking forward to seeing how it sounds. don't suppose anyone has had a chance to compare it with any of the ALO Amps, specifically the Alo RX iem amp, which I am also quite interested in?
While I haven't compared the A1 to the RX, it is right up there with the best portable amps that I have previously owned. Congrats on your purchase!
Thanks! Great to hear... Slightly left field choice from my side. I’d sold my Headstage Arrow 5tx and had thought to get the RX. But this cropped up and as I’ve already got the Alo Continental V2 this seemed like something a bit different. Given the love expressed for both it and the P1 on this thread I can’t wait to give it a spin!
Please drop a post with your impressions when you get a chance...
Will do... I’ll prolly get it next week sometime
looks like I broke my fairly new Nuansa P1 the Mini USB plug broke off
is this repairable?
I'm not a great electronics welder
