The IE80 and FX700 will give you that wow factor. The IE80 is more balanced than the FX700 though and its mid range is better, and its sound stage is larger.

I really can't get over the x10 sounding better than the W4. Perhaps the W3 would be more up your alley.  That sound signature is very exciting.

x2.  The W4 soon relegated my X10's to my gym earphones!

The X10 has more bass than the W4, no doubt. W3 has even more.

I think he just wants that exciting signature. W3 is up his alley.

Better is purely subjective, of course. If someone said that the sound from their iPod Shuffle with stock buds sounded better than my HD650's and TTVJ amp, would they be wrong? For the record, the W4's were perfect in so many respects, but I just didn't connect to them sonically. And in the end, it's all about which components make your listening experience better for you. I've been really liking the X10's, and may keep them. But it seems I am trying to get a pair of IEM's that sound like my 650's. From all of the posts here, I think I may try out the IE80's.

I have not tried the HD650, but maybe I will soon, and perhaps I can mention the similarities against the IE80!

Let me know. I'd be curious as to what you think.
