Hi, I will need some resistor adaptor, because I want to use my IEm with my new desktop amp. I saw something like this ETYMOTIC ER4P TO ER4S RESISTOR ADAPTOR (3.5MM PLUG) - eBay (item 290331040469 end time Aug-11-09 18:59:42 PDT) also I have spare Sound level attenuator from UE, but I´m not sure it is same thing.

Or do I even need this for Desktop Amp? And how does it change sound(if your impendace get higher that must have some efect.)

UE's sound level attenuator is basically 100ohm resistor adapter, P to S adapter is 75ohm.

According to Knowles Accoustics, raising impedence has three effects: (1) It lowers bass; (2) It lowers the HF spike, smoothing it out a bit; and (3) It moves it down the frequency spectrum.

The difference between the ER4P (27 ohms) and the ER4S (100 ohms) can be seen here:

You don't need it just to drive your earphones through your desktop amp.
