Looks to be an improvement graphically over 4, I hope the plot's better (and scarier) this time around. I always thought Chris was cooler than pretty boy Leon. The game's coming to the PS3 and 360 next year.

Mmm shoot up central African republic zombies.

I must confess, ResEvil games are ones I far more enjoy watching people play than playing myself.

I really must stop clicking on these MGS4, RE5, PS3 threads because I've already abstained from checking out PS3 games since I sold my PS2

The gameplay looks to be the same as RE4 but oh my, the graphics are stupendous (not MGS4 quality so far). The original Resident Evil is truly one of only a few games I haven't completed because I/we sh@t it
redface.gif
. If 5 can capture the same feel but less of the action movie type shenanigans in RE4 then we have a proper Resident Evil game.

Bah it looks like Nintendo is dropping the RE series forever then.

They should really make those games for computer...

You don't like the computer port for RE series? With the right graphics mods it's pretty alright for me.

I'm downloading the video now but, man it looks so cool. I hope my 7900GS can run it when it comes out for PC.

I wouldn't be surprised if there'll be one eventually, since games like DMC 4 and GoW are also coming to PC.

You should try RE4, it's mostly third-person run and gun, very little survival-horror. Plot is horrid though.

I could never finish the original, even the GC remake. It's crappy on a technical level. Code Veronica IMO was the pinnacle of series (in regards to overall cohesion).

I pretty much just started playing number 4 on the wii. At first I wasn't too into it, but quickly got pulled in. It's amazing, and probably (one of) the best single player game(s) I know of.

I never knew they made any RE games for PC?

You know, strangely, I agree

I remember when the first Biohazard came out for Playstation. I was too darn scared to play it, especially the first wall-climbing boss.

I've played RE4 so many times, gotten every weapon including hand cannon. I agree, the atmosphere's too bright for a survival-horror but man, I would never regret a single hour I've spent on it.

I sat at a friends in the same chair for 14 hours while a few of my mates played it hot seat per death. I played a little at the village at the start.

I had the dubious honour of being the first player to be unceremoniously decapitated by Chainsaw McSackhead.

I must say I liked the B-movie bodysnatchers type plot.

Well it's not made for PC. They just converted the console version for PC. There's no mouse support, no tweaking of graphic settings. You know when you have to run from huge rocks or duck, you have to press like a combination of buttons? It's absolutely horrid on the PC. The buttons are from the gamepad, so I've died like 20 times just to figure out which buttons are for which keys.

Ah yes the 'other' Resident Evil, completely forgot about that. Retrospectively, Code Veronica had the right balance of fresh gameplay, great visuals AND real horror. The creatures in that game were brilliant, really invoked terror when you caught a glimpse of them (those Dhalsim-esque monsters

). I don't think it beats RE2's plot however.

They made RE4 for PC. I bought it as soon as it came out. Took it back the day after

EDIT: as Assorted correctly put it, they converted/ported it to PC and what a shoddy port it was.

As far as I know 2, 3, and 4 made their way to the PC. The port of RE4 was horrible from what I understand. They ported the ps2 version and didn't make an attempt to improve anything.

Edit: Two people beat me to it while I was typing.

I love the RE series, but I am still waiting for a 28 Days Later style zombie game. I would buy a next gen system for that providing they pull it off.

Yep, I *think* 1-3 are available on PC, but they're very old. Perhaps try the PSX versions (on an emu).

That was technically the first RE I played, I don't really recall the plot, but I had fun with the game. I greatly enjoyed the theatrical style of Veronica.
