Ok. My first post. I've been lurking this forum for a few days now. I'm pretty dead set on buying the Cowon Q5 (http://iaudiophile.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=54) when it is available.

I currently have a sansa express attached to the sony MDREX85LPB (http://www.sonystyle.ca/commerce/ser...ductId=1003796)

I find myself entirely unsatisfied.

So, I'm looking to you audiophiles to help me out.
I need some good IEM's: under 200 dollar range.
A very portable amp with a long battery life: 130 dollar range but flexible

I also have questions for other cowon users. I've seen Ipod users using different methods of audio out (bottom connector,) and i assume this is to get better sound quality, is this needed or even possible with cowon players?

Also, I'd like to be keeping the amp in my little bag that i carry. Meaning I'll need a 2 foot mini to mini cord. Can you guys direct me to one that looks amazingly good and sounds equally fantastic?

Also, please note if rewiring the IEM's you suggest would bring about performance increases. (I am looking for asymmetrical cording on them and will have them rewired to achieve that anyway)

I would like to add, I will be watching a lot of movies on the player (of course) and as far as music goes, i like rock music with bass. (Think rage against the machine.)

I greatly appreciate any and all help extended to me!

So far. I seem to be leaning towards

Q5 -> Minibox-E -> Ultimate Ears Super.fi 5 Pro

My question is, will I get some good bass out of this setup? Would the Super.fi 5 EB be a better choice?
