Ok Im actually loving my FMJ 11mm buds with the medium tips so far. But Im not getting as much isolation as I want so I was thinking of getting replacement tips. The nice thing about the included medium tips for me is they are unnoticeable in my ears but they dont fall out. The large tips are just a bit too big and cause my ears to hurt and the left one is forced out of my ear.

So anyway, I saw the UE Universal fit kit mentioned in a thread about new JVC IEMs and was wondering if I should give these a try. The tips from my JVC HA-FX66 fit but I only have the foam tips or the ones that are too big. Does this kit only have one pair of each size? From my experience I always end up using the medium sizes.

You could also use comply tips:

Comply Foam T400 are compatible with the FMJ's.

The Skullcandy ones just seem like the stock ones but with skulls on them. I was thinking more of something like those Comply foam, but do those really give good isolation and sound good?

Comply tips do isolate very well. The sound might be an improvement over the stock tips, but being FMJs it'll still be very, very bad.

not very very bad, just maybe not as good as something more expensive. But I can tell they are better than JVC air cushions I had before, which is what I was wanting. The included medium tips fit me and I cant even feel them but I would like more isolation if possible. Sound improvement would be a plus of course. I did some test with Mack's molding ear plugs and it was great but not practical.

x2. They're not the best, but they're not the worst. I personally like the SC over the JVC (Marshmallow). I found the Skullcandy link, hoping to find replacements just in case. I also use the medium silicon tips and like them. They fit great and are very comfortable. More comfortable than foam tips(that tend to give the "stuffed" ear feeling).

The silicon are OK for isolation. But I did find this mod that involves putting a "ring" of foam earplug material behind the single silicone flange.

funny I did this already but using the large tips and I cut the flange off so I could use only the tubes, still wasnt good, but I didnt try this. I did think of doing this with the Mack's but it didnt work out. The hole punch I have at work leaves one side and its hard to get a center hole even when it looks dead center. I will try this when I go back to work tomorrow. Those foams are expensive for me right now but I want to try them sometime.

I bought some E something tips for my smokin buds and they were a lot of work to fit because I think I got the wrong ones, but that worked out pretty cool, I had a whole bag for pretty cheap but now I cant find them to even try with these. The fitting is way too small so Im sure it wouldnt work at all though.
