Im sure you all hate someones first post being a request thread, so apologies in advance. I used to read these forums all the time, but its been awhile.

I had a pair of shure e2s but after a good amount (past warranty) of use they stopped working. Im currently using some HD-280pros and *gasp* .....ipod headphones for portable use. Of course this will not stand and after tormenting that punishment for a good while I have money available to spend on new headphones. Im looking at the super.fi 5 pros at the moment, but im not totally sure how well they block out sound and their comfortability. Iv read abunch of threads/done afew searchs and I broke down and decided asking opinions was my best bet, Iv looked at the etys, shures, v moda vibes, as well as the westones so far. I know Iv missed something so feel free to suggest anything.

Type of music I listen to is really varied, but alot of electronic stuff and a decent amount of folk type music, acoustic instruments etc. These are pretty opposite ends of the spectrum so something pretty balanced is nice, however I am a fan of a sizable amount of bass. Also something pretty durable is nice as i do manage to get out and run once in awhile.

Any opinions are very welcome.

i have super.fi 3's they're the same shape as the super.fi 5's and they're comfortable. I used them with a blower the other day to blow off my driveway and they blocked out at least 90% of that noise.

Do you have a need for sparkly treble, or prefer a darker more relaxed tonality? I would honestly recommend UM2 for your tastes, out of the stuff I tried it sounds bit more natural, with great bass, I enjoyed it with electronica quite a bit. It is admittedly dark though.

I'll give a shout for the Super.fi 5 Pros. I've had them for about six months now and really enjoy the sound. Full bottom end, great soundstage. I haven't had any comfort issues with them either and I use them for a couple hours every day.
