I have these openback with Kleer technology headphones. I find them very comfortable and like the sound.

However they are now getting on a bit and as I have a bit of cash at present. I would like to replace, preferably, with similar i.e. openback with Kleer technology.

Tried reading reviews of newer Sennheiser etc but none actually said openback and Kleer technology.

Any idea of what Sennheiser is the replacement or other possibilities.

Any advice please?

The RS185 replaced the RS180.

Alongside the release of the RS185, the RS165, RS175 and RS195 were released as replacements for the RS180's siblings.
While the closed-back RS175 and RS195 sets are still available, the open back RS185 appears to have been discontinued. They can still be found occasionally on eBay.

For the record, I have a RS185 set, but no longer use them much. I prefer to use my Fiio BTR5 with either my HD565s or HD58Xs when I want to go wireless. A pair of HD58Xs and a BTR5 can be had for less than the cost of the RS185 set, and provides greater flexibility. Range is not a great as the RS185s, but is fine for my needs. You will need a Bluetooth capable source.

To my ears the Bluetooth wireless solution is not noticeably inferior to the RS185 wireless technology. The BTR5/HD58X combo is sonically superior to the RS185 set.

Found some newish 185RS secondhand. Like the sound but after 6 hours my ears where too hot; 185RS seems to clamp too tight or maybe I got used to the light touch of the 180RS. Don't need to exclude outside sound in my listening room, just need to turn off speakers sometimes.

The clamping force can be reduced. The technique is the same as that used to reduce HD600 series clamping. There a a number of YouTube tutorials illustrating the technique.
