Are there any cheaper devices that will be a pass-through with 1/8" or 1/4" or RCA?

We have our TV's line-out going to our Klipsch Promedia 4.1 speakers, but the only way to adjust the volume is by using the knob on one of the speakers.

We want the cheapest volume control remote we can get. Whats out there?

There was once a remote line preamp called the "Chase RLC1" (iirc). It was discontinued and cleared out years ago. The specific purpose was to add remote control and source switching to systems like yours. It would be ideal if you can track one down. Actually I have a couple of them around somewhere, so let me know if you can't find one.

As you're using Foobar, consider buying the Remote Wonder (RF remote control, ~$30) and using the remote control plug-in for Foobar at JayZee

If you can find a used Creek OBH-10, that's your best bet -- US$100 street, roughly.

Ï vaguely remember seeing a replacement for it, but not sure that what I'm remembering is Creek. Hold on a sec...wanders off to find some info...nope, sorry, I mean the OBH-12, replaced by the OBH-22.

EDIT: Nope, again -- I did mean the OBH-10, it didn't have an input selector (one input).

The "Chase RLC1" was manufactured by a company called Chase Technologies and RLC standed for Remote Line Controller. It was reviewed in the now-defunct Stereo Review magazine and was found to be a pretty good inexpensive pre-amp. Last I saw it offered for sale, it was selling for $50.00.

We run out TV through these speakers, so it would have to work with that as well.
