Can't stand it anymore...
have...
to.. rant... ugh...

I'm getting fed up of seeing people referring themselves in the third person.
I found so many people do this in their Photo.Net portfolios (front page).
What is wrong with these people.

Example:
Mr. Butt started his photography by the age of 20, with this equipment blah blah... Mr Butt. is currently ranked on yada yada yada.. Mr Butt's pictures have been featured in the blah blah... This has not only motivated and fine tuned his photography skills...yada yada.. His images are yada yada...

Oh my God, it makes me nauseous - especially when the person's skills is not up to his mouth (fingers?). Even if you are a pro, and if you referred to yourself in third person, I'd still consider you a one snobbish A-hole.

Referring yourself in third person should be made illegal. Well with the exception for dumb or something like that... " Hulk is angry..." or "Tarzan want banana"

Phew.

What's really annoying is having to write a dissertation and not being allowed to use the word "I"

How do you write up what you actually did without actually saying "I did ..." Have to refer to the paper itself as the third person. Annoying

Douglas saw the thread title and laughed, Douglas continued to laugh as he scroled down and made his own little post. "That'll show them." he muttered under his breath. Distracted by the banter of Head-fi, he had failed to notice the shadow creaping up behind him....

The great aerius believes that speaking in the third person is the best thing ever. We also believe that people who don't like it are lacking in culture, and listen to too much Britney Spears. The great aerius supports the use of the royal "We", as well as speaking in the third person. We, the great aerius, thank you for reading this post.

Well m_memmory doesn't believe that using "we" to refer to one person is very good .... how then would we that are m_memmory know which one of us is using the brain/vocal chords/etc at each moment.

Multiple personalities is fun .... blame the other "me" for any & all problems.
