I have 2-red eye flights in the next week and I want to get some tunes to listen to in that wonderful state you can only achieve while flying, really tired and can't sleep right.

This will be my first flight with decent headphones (e3c's) so I'm thinking my quiet music will sound a whole lot better.

My general selection for these situations is elliott smith, nick drake, songs ohia, sigur ros.

I have listened to songs ohia-magnolia electric comp my last 5 flights straight and I think it's perfect (good vocals male and female), calming, and range of musical styles on the cd. but I'm getting tired of it and want to try some new stuff

Any suggestions for calm cds I can put my head back and just chill to.

I was thinking to try something like morcheeba but I don't know where to begin with that sort of music. (calm technoy with vocals). Don't even know the genre.

No jazz that just makes my brain work overtime for some reason.

I'd check out either of Zero 7's albums (When It Falls and Simple Things -- thinks thats it). They're both absolutely awesome, and pretty similar to what you mentioned... they've always done the trick when I've been working late in the office, slap them onto the Hi-Fi and away you go

northern exposure 1 and 3 are great for the semi-concieouse state, also sashas airdrawndagger is cool for that kind of listening. if you want something more relaxing than trance, I would also recommend some Mum, or maybe even pink floyd. Have fun
