This is a question I would like to know the answer to because when I listen to music, recording quality isn't an objective. I enjoy music whether it's poorly recorded or not. Therefor I would be curious to know if higher end quality headphones are worth it if you listen to low quality music (like black metal).

Since I don't use a DAC or AMP should I be concerned about high end headphones, should I worry about looking into higher end headphones? Here's a list of headphones, the ones I have vs. the ones I want.

I haven't actually received the grado sr80i headphones yet, probably not until tomorrow. I've been considering saving up for either the q701, K550, dt990 (25 ohm). or hd 298. I really want to hear what high quality headphones sound like, because I listen to music basically non-stop, no exaggeration. I can't tell myself if they'd be necessarily worth it though.
