Hi, I've owned 4 pair of IEM's:
Ety ER-6i's
Hifiman Re-0's
Ety HF-5
and some chinese plastic MEE's

All things considered, the ER-6i's were my favorite, comfortable, small enough to be worn under a motorcycle helmet, decent sound, I got rid of them after they broke twice (due to the poor quality wires).
The Re-0's sounded better than the ER-6i's, but regardless of the flanges used, I couldn't get a great fit.
The HF-5's had really stiff wires, and really bad microphonics. They also protruded a lot from my ear canal making them impossible to wear under a moto helmet.
The Chinese MEE's, had nice bass, otherwise quite muddy, and had similar flange/fit issues as the Re-0's.

Given those issues, can someone recommend an affordable IEM that I'd like?

thanks,

I don't understand why you wear IEMs underneath a moto-helmet? This is just dangerous.

Brainwavz M4 have good bass, comfortable, great seal and isolation (a combo not to be used in traffic).
