It's been quite a few years since I have been on this forum. I moved into 2 channel and I am coming back to get a travel pair of cans.

I still have Senn H650's and Audio Technica something or others. My old amp is a SinglePower PPX (or something like that). I listen regularly to in ear monitors on a run/cutting grass to Etymotic ER4 XR. Basically anytime I sweat I prefer the ER4's. However they really aren't comfortable and I greatly prefer headphones. But they are really good for running (after failing with 20 pairs of "exercise" in ear earphones.)

What I am looking at:

I am looking at Oppo PM3, PSB m4u 8, Audio Quest NightOwl Carbon and Audeze Mobius.

What I want:

Sound quality in a closed back headphone is first. I am going to use an iphone into an Audioquest Red Dragonfly. They are foremost for Airplane travel. However I will use them in hotel at night. Music is most of the duty and the occasional movie on the go. I greatly preferred wired connection as I have only experience terrible Bluetooth results (not that I care i it can do it). Sound Canceling is not necessary unless it really helps sound quality. It must hold up reasonably well.

Right now the Oppo is in the forefront of my mind. Is the Audioquest too delicate for travel? Is the PSB better or across the board?

Thanks for any thoughts you might have

Well, Oppo now only makes smartphones and will no longer support anything that is not a smartphone, so I figured that the PM-3 is out, unless you want to collect and store. That makes two pricey ($800 each) viable options, because you did not mention a budget: MrSpeakers Aeon Flow Open/Closed for larger ears or Campfire Audio Cascade for smaller ears.
