I need to replace my iPhone earbuds and I was hoping I could upgrade in quality.  I know there are a lot of options as far as IEM type headphones, but I'm looking for a pair that are similar to the standard Apple earbuds that sit outside of the ear canal. I still need the functionability of the Apple earbuds with the mic/pause button/volume controls but I'm hoping I can get earbuds with better sound quality.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Apple earbuds are simply terrible. The first time I listened to the standard iPod earbuds, I thought they were broken!

You could try the Bose IE.  I don't have much experience with earbuds but I've had these in the past (pets ate them :P).  They have the gel tips so they're unlike most in-ears I believe.  You don't need to create that annoying seal in your ear canal, there's no cable noise if you're moving a lot, and they're extremely comfortable for me.
