Hello,

Work has given me a $50 US Amazon voucher which I am going to use to buy some in-ear phones. I want them to use as all-rounders and to be good while travelling on planes/buses.

My priorities in order are;
- noise isolation
- comfort
- SQ
- case & airline adapter plug

They will be used to listen to podcasts as well as music as well movies on the plane. I like bass (rarely listen to rap & hip-hop) - think I would prefer a stronger mid to help with voices.

My budget is $50 but will throw a few more $ down if the bang-for-buck is there.

Any suggestions/recommendations will be highly appreciated !

Buddy, it's admirable that you like the RE0s and all, but just because they're your first pair of good IEMs doesn't mean they'll suit everyone in every single recommendation thread...

i wouldn't get someone whos entering into the audiophile world an RE0 as it might not sound as engaging and fun to someone used to apple stock earphones

Just what I was thinking. The RE0 fails to address a whopping 3 of the OP's 6 concerns. Recommending what you think is a great IEM is one thing; pushing it on everyone regardless of their requirements is another.

The Maximo does tick a lot of my boxes...

Interestingly I am very old to portable mid-fi but an IEM virgin. I am sure my tinnitus has at least something to do with the many many hours of listening in the office and on the bus... Subsequently I havent done much headphone work in recent years.

I have a decent home system to give me my music fix

Ditto IM-590's with Sony Hybrid Tips. Don't be disappointed if you don't love them right out of the box-I really didn't care for them at all until they burned in for quite a while, and
the bass really opened up. Now they're great!
