My Audio Technica Sonic Fuel ATH-CKX9 In-Ear Headphones had a cable fail and after I replaced the cable, I get additional noise when the cable is moved, so it's time for new buds.
I found the CKX9's as great in the mids, highs were missing details, and the bass was uncontrolled and boomy. They were the best overall earbuds I've used, because I've always been cheap in the travel earbuds dept. I found them pretty comfortable and GREAT at sound isolation. I also liked the flat cable design. I'm tall, so the long cable was great.
I listen to power metal (edguy, iron maiden, stratovarious, dragonforce, dream evil), classic rock (Deep Purple, CCR, The Who) and southern rock (Wet Willie). I also listen to Classical music occasionally.
I have Audio Technica AD700, Beyer DT 770 pro 80ohm and 250ohm. I was looking at the VSONIC GRO7 Bass edition as well as the RHA MA750i. For all around I prefer the DT 770 pro 80ohms for over ear cans.
Any recommendations for IEM with sound isolating. Touching the cable and causing noise would be something I'm avoiding.
Thank you!
