Recommend how I can extend Maverick Tube Magic D1.

I have been using Tube Magic D1 with AKG K702 to for some time and all is good. I know I cant attach book shelf speakers direct. 
 
What do I need if I want to expand this so I can add speakers ? My audio source is my Mac or iPhone and looking for a 2 speaker system just to listen to music (no movie watching) . Can any one recommend me a the speakers and amp I will need if my budget is $1500 to $2000

So no options to hook up a speaker to my TubeMagicD1

You can hook powered speakers up directly to your D1, like the Audioengine ones.
