Recommend Earphones

Hey guys,

I love music and i decided to take a step into audiophile.
I've decided to get the new iPod 5G, and i've never spent much on audio equipments before. So before i do, i'd just like to clear my curiosities.

Most importantly, i need to know what kind of earphones i should get. I am interested in getting canal earphones since it is noise isolation. I mainly listen to rock, trance & christian. I've been hearing alot bout the ER6i by etymotics, and i've read that the bass isn't really there. Basically i'm looking for something which has a good bass and clarity.

So what would be the perfect earphones that will suit my preference? I'm also planning for better upgrades in near future such as an amp.

Budget should be around $100 - $150

Any good recommendations?

For portable use, I am very happy with my shure e2c. Well, I LOVE the isolation, and can't afford to upgrade any time soon. I would reccomend trying for some shures, maybe e4 if you can find them second hand. Happy hunting!

i havent personally heard them but the ue 5 eb is suppsed to have a lot of bass
you may be able to find a second hand pair for around $150 (i think)

consider the westone um1

More bass then the er6i and e3 but not so muddy as the e2

You'll pay 100-110 dollar for a new set
