I love to use my headphones but i really would like to spread the joy of my music to others.

It sucks when my friends come over and only one of them can listen at a time because i only have headphones so i need some pc speakers

I listen to phy trance classical rock (all types and metal) Hip hop Rap R&B and well you get the picture so a balanced sound will be great and i would like it to be as small as possible preferably not surround

I don't care mush for aesthetic beauty SQ is my priority here

and any input is much appreciated
also if it has a good headphone connector that's a supper plus

if you are looking for pc speakers for under $100 you wont find any with stellar sound quality. however back in the days when i researching a cheap(affordable) pc speakers myself for around $100 i came upon the Logitech Z-2300. its on ebay for under $100+shipping. the speaker is THX approved. SQ on this is pretty decent. and its got the most wattage i have ever seen in a 2.1 system. a whopping 200W peaking at 400W. if you turn this baby up it will blast the **** out of your place. not saying that power has anything to do with SQ but the bass on this thing will rock ur Rap and R&B's ur playing. and wait for the neighbours to knock on your door. and yes it does have headphone connector.

some stores sell this item over $100 so im not exactly sure if this is within ur budget, but def. wanna check it out.

oo we are talking about sub $200 now, nice nice, take a look at KLIPSCH PROMEDIA 2.1. there was actually a thread about this recently. check it out: http://www.head-fi.org/forums/showth...H+PROMEDIA+2.1

according to what people said about the promedia 2.1, its also bass heavy @200W so i suppose its similar to the z-2300. seems like the headpone out is powered so that might be able to help a bit when driving high impedence headphones.
the price of the promedia varies between $100-200, and their are used ones on ebay in nice conditions.

yea the reviews look good(just note that you can find a lot of product online with feedbacks like that, a lot of times the reviews were written by someone who just went and bought themselves a pair of speakers and call it their "best ever owned" when they had no previous experience to compare it to. in fact, its their "ONLY ever owned"),not to say that i dont trust them on Newegg, but if i were to get a better impression of an item im buying id feel more confident reading it off a dedicated forum(such as Head-fi) than a mainstream site.

Wow, and with free shipping. That is a pretty great deal - in fact, I'm going to add it to the original thread.

I am also inclined to the klipsch. I have heard some of their big brothers, and if they keep their sound signature, you will have a lot of fun. Not the most neutral sound, though. But the bass... ah, the bass...

What about a T-amp and a couple of second hand loudspeakers?

My Z-2300's are pretty great. However, be warned that if you use the headphone plugin on the speakers it uses the amp built into the subwoofer. It's not a terrible one, but it's probably not as good as plugging them in directly to the computer.
