Hi, all. This is my first post on this forum. I'm currently using Senn. Mx400 with my Clie(TG50) and planning to upgrade the phone. I've done several searches in the forum and found that the Audio Technica CM5 is quite suitable for me. As I listen to folks and a few pops. And I found that the bass of mx400 is already too much(without foam) for me. However, I've several question to ask before making my purchase.
-My budget is about 40-50USD(I can get CM5 in HK for around 40USD), are there any other suitable phones within this range?
-I listen to the mp3s with 192kbps encoded by Lame on the clie, will it be a waste of money?
-How's the sound quality of cm5, especially in mid-high, compared to my old mx400?
-And finally, I've just found out that it seems that the Cm5 is abandoned on Audio Technica website and there's a similar product called CM3 on the site(all specs besides dimensions/color are the same). Where the cm3 has not yet shipped until Dec. Is it wise for me to wait for it and see how it is?
