That is the guy he wrote the book "Happiness is a Serious Problem". He spends an hour everyday on his radio show talking about how you can make yourself more happy.

This is his equipment. How much do you think it is worth?

Jesus... talk about the stereotypical lonely audioloser. This guy plays listens only to classical & jazz ... music recorded in the 1940s, played on a $100,000 system. Heh.

$20 says this guy has no wife or children and never will.

edit: Well, he claims in the article to have a wife and kids.. but he ain't fooling me. Nuh uh.

edit2: ugh... pseudo-new-age religio-philosophical self-improvement crap. No thanks.

He has a wife and kids...really.

His radio show is very popular. I believe he is syndicated. My mother, who works for a symphony orchestra, tryed working a business deal with him. She has met him in person, and he is not as warm as he is on his show. It fell through because the radio station demanded too much money, which angered Dennis but caused him to stay out of the deal.

BTW....what is wrong with listening to classical

Prices new:

Preamp: 4,500
Amps: 12,000
Transport: 11,000
DAC: 15,000
Upsampler: 6,000
Speakers: 20,000

Total without cables: 68,500

Minya, who are you to say who is worthy of what system, and what to play on that system?? I am sure most people would disagree with my choices of music, and how often I listen to that type of music. So, please do tell, what music SHOULD he be listening to? Talk about audiolosers, I don't see him with 1500+ posts on an audio (headphone no less) site.

Yep, I see a bit of myself in his article. I too think music plays an important role in my life, and as such want to get something that reproduces it quite well. I liked his take on the high-end stereo stuff.

Thanks for the link ipodstudio.

ServinginEcuador, you're most welcome, glad you enjoyed. I did too and saw some of myself there somewhere, like you did.

"An analogy to the graphic arts might help. If you see a book-sized black and white photograph of a Rembrandt painting, you certainly can enjoy the painting, and you can appreciate some of the artist’s greatness. But the truth is that you haven’t really seen Rembrandt’s painting."

I wouldn't classify Rembrandt as "graphic art", but I really like his analogy. An easier way to explain hifi to the lay person.

Actually, he lists on his site where he bought his equipment. None of it was bought from Upscale Audio.

Stuatr- Let me guess...you want his CJ preamp
