so.. i ended up getting the a35 and right now just connected to the line in input. is that right? this completely blows the t-amp out of the water.. i was not at all expecting such a big difference.

The A-35R eats the T-amp for breakfast.

As for the inputs, you can use any input except the phono input.

very very true skyline.. i like the a35r too because there is the adjustable bass and treble. i'm really glad i made the upgrade. thanks for the suggestion

That's a pretty nice looking unit. I'm using a decade old Yamaha rx-v795 to power my RC-10s.
