I am looking to the most comfortable on-ear headphone with great noise isolation I want to be completely shutoff from the world when I put my headphones on. I currently own the Brainwavz HM5. But now I want a smaller on ear headphone.. My price range is under $200 and there primary use will be for playing Battlefield 3 (non competitive) on my pc and watching movies from my iPad. I do not have any amplifiers or sound cards so they need to be easy to drive. As for sound signature I would prefer a nice strong detailed bass. I am not looking for an analytical neutral sound. I'd like a nice fun sounding phone that makes me feel like I'm at the movie theater. My headphones will be worn for almost 4 hours at a time so I'd like to forget that they are even on my head.
I am currently looking at the Vmoda M80, Sennhesier HD228

I f you are just interested in comfort and isolation then go with the bose AE2. Thet are extemly comfrtable, and they isolate well, they also have the QC15 noise cancelling headphone's too, but they are pricey IMO. The AE2's are also pricey IMO in comparison with their sound quality.
 
Sorry both of the model's I mentioned above are around the ear, but they do make the OE2 model wich is on the ear, but I have no experience with it.

Everything you want is the property of full-sized circum-aural cans. What exactly is it about your full-sized cans that's the problem here? What are you looking for from on-ears that will be better? Portability? Comfort? Good looking?

JVC HA-S500 are great on-ears. With HM5 pads, they are superb circum-aural, but portable cans. But those pads on the S500 are nt something you want to be seen outside with.

EDIT: Only just noticed your budget. I suppose you can find better than the S500 for that kind of money. I'm afraid I can't assist with that price range personally, though .

The reason I am looking for a good pair of on ear headphones is because sometimes I wear glasses and Around ear cans put too much pressure on the sides of my head while im wearing my glasses at night. I would love to only use around ear cans because of the better isolation. But i am able to wear on ear headphones with my glasses and they do not interfere with my glasses as much. I also would prefer to stay away from in ear headphones even though they would provide the best isolation and comfort. Any thoughts on these if I do go the in ear route?

I'm not too shure that you would get better isolation with IEM's than you would with around ear (circumaural) headphone's.

Based on your requirements, I would recommend the Philips CitiScape Downtown. It doesnt exactly have the fun sound signature but its not boring either. Its very natural, I wouldnt classify it as the "audiophile neutral" but its pretty close, very well rounded.
 
I ended up purchasing the Philips CitiScape Uptown around-ear model, the sound again was surprising for the price however it had one flaw with the cable, it has an inline volume control that really degraded the quality of the signal. I didnt even touch the volume adjuster but it always seemed to give me problems and in the end I never used it. It was very dissapointing especially since it was by far my best headphone for the money. The CitiScape Downtown does not have the volume adjuster.
 
Another on ear headphone you should look at is the Jays C-Jays, also great sounding. And lastly the V-Moda Crossfade M-80 which is a little large for an on-ear and it might bother you with the glasses.

I've owned the hd218's, same design as the hd228 basically. I wear glasses, and they definitely do not interfere, there's a small gap between your head and the headband.
Very comfortable, very light, no extreme clamp like the ath-m50's, i can only get about 2 hours on those then it starts hurting.
Sadly with the hd218's they have slightly less noise isolation than over-ears, essentially a home-use option only, they will still block out sound.
You also have to get your ear exactly on the holes in the pads, otherwise you don't get the full sound.
 
Bass is what the hd218's specialises in, punchy, plentiful, not bloated or woolly. Mine might have been the bass version though, i don't quite recall.
With mids, vocals are very close and personal, as if the person singing is next to you. The amount of mids, i feel, is equal to the amount of bass.
The treble extension isn't spectacular, that's the only downside of the hd218's, the lows and mids overshadow the highs.
They don't have much sound-stage though, they sounded quite closed in and personal. Might suit nightly movie watching.

In-ears are not comfortable for gaming, for me anyway.

Thank you all for the advice im am considering the Bose AE2 for the comfort level. I would really want to get a pair of noisecancelling headphones but when I tried on the Bose qc15 both me and my girlfriend got headaches after only a minute or so. Do all noisecancelling headphones gives that kind of small annoying pressure on the ears? Im not talking about physical pressure from the headphone but the kind of pressure you get when you go to higher elevations and you have to swallow to get rid of it. While I was wearing the Bose qc 15 it felt like I had to swallow to get rid of the pressure but that didnt work. I loved the Bose Noise Cancelling Instant dome of blissfull peace and silence. It was like stepping into a cone of silence. Would i eventually get used to the pressure on my ears and forget about it?

I was in best buy , and once tried the QC15 on for fun and it felt like I was in a padded room, I could hear every single thing going on inside my body, it was very strange. I owned the AE2 year's ago, someone had gave them to me as a gift, and they were extremly comfortable.

If comfort is your main priority I will have to second the AE2... they are the most comfortable on-ear headphone out there and they weigh next to nothing. Sound is decent though it seems pretty V-shaped to me (I like some color, but I think Bose goes a bit overboard).

In all honesty, the new Bose Eartips with the large protrusion atop them have been the most comfortable earbuds I've ever worn. And they stay fit regardless of activity as well. Not to say that their audio quality beats the average premium headphone (which it doesn't), but in terms of comfort and fit, they rule. Bose seems to have done an extensive amount of ergonomic research in their development.

Thanks I will look into the bose eartips and now I am going for in ear headphones that isolate extremely well. I want to hear nothing from the outside enviroment even when the music is off. Are there any in ear headphones that have freat isolation, mic, and comfort that excel at positional audio for gaming I was also looking at the klispch pro media with mic
