Hi,
My terrible (lol) 5hv2 one of the ears doesn't work, so i am thinking of doing a complete re-cabling. (Microphone included)
Now some of you may say throw it out and get new one, but for me it does everything i need, its comfortable and i would like the experience of re-cabling so when i get better headphones i can do that if i have to.
Ok, I'll supply a bit of information/diagram

That's the internal wiring from memory colours not the same.... left out grounding, the green wire is the microphone cable
I *really* have pretty much no idea what cables to get, all i want is something pretty decent at reasonable price that will last. From what i gathered i get
- Dual core/single Line Stereo cable (its the same as the headphone cord?)
2 Core Round Screened Audio Cable
-A Single core/single line microphone cable.. such as
2 core screened professional microphone cable (couldn't find single line but maybe I'm just dumb
)
- 2 Jacks for the headphones and the mic to go into the computer/ipod
2 x 3.5mm Gold Stereo Plug WITH SPRING
- Heat shrink tubing - I'm assuming 6mm but it depends on how thick those cables are/if i change
- Soldering iron + stand + solder + solder sucker
Would like a decent but affordable iron as I will be using occasionally in future if anyone could find me one + the needed accessories i have looked but got absolutely no cluethis (direct link to page of them)
So, please suggest some tools i could use and a good way to disconnect the drivers (if i need to) as well as any tips/diagrams/guides/anything that could help!
also one of those 3rd hand things i hear they are handy, are they worth shopping around for i couldn't find one from that store
budget is about 100aud including tools.. can go over but would prefer it to be for some of the tools
edit: hehe the diagram looking at it now doesn't make much sense, the part where the wire is getting pinched is where the headband connects into the actual cup of the headphone the gaps given to catch the screw leaves to small of a gap for the cable to get through, i could chisel that out though... maybe some other way to do it
purchases need to be made from jayco/dse in Australia
Cheers
