These are my father's, and they were my very first introduction to headphones. I listened to them at a young age through my father's Sony all-in-one tuner/8-track/vinyl/amp unit. Check out the styling!

Can anyone tell me anything about these headphones?

Can't say anything about the cans in particular, but the "Realistic" brand was sold by Radio Shack back in the day when it was still part of the Tandy corporation.

You might wanna check out how much the higher range 8 track recorders are going for on the auction site that may not be named..

I was kind of shocked to find them going for three figure prices..

Well, the 8-track portion in the Sony unit is long-dead, and it wasn't exactly high-end to begin with, so I don't think it would be worth too much in its current state.

So far, I've found out that these headphones were manufactured for Tandy by Koss, who also marketed the headphones as the Koss K-6. Somewhat popular in recording studios, apparently; you can see Michael McDonald wearing a pair on the back of the Steely Dan album Katy Lied. Sweet!

There was even a pair made called the Koss Beatlephone, which had pictures of two members of the Beatles on each earcup. This kid certainly looks happy to have a pair.

Many headphones of this era used those hard plastic earpads. They may be tough to find a replacement for.

Funny coincidence, as I picked up Linda Ronstadt's "Don't Cry Now" earlier this week, and the inside cover shows Linda in the studio wearing these very same headphones! (tried scouring the Internet for a scan, but no luck :/)

Got to love em still have a set of Nova 40,and a pair of Phodis Mk 6 made in Japan. They have been lying in a drawer in the house for what seems like forever.I actually listened to them the other day,and not to bad if you drive them hard.
If you consider there age then not to bad at all.
