So I pretty much narrowed down my choices for an IEM down to these three. These seem to be the ones that stand out in the price range of 150~ at least, though the GR07 recently had a jump in price which makes it a little less appealing to me, but I don't really mind shelling out the additional 25~ dollars if it's really that good.

I mostly listen to anime soundtrack nowadays, which can run the spectrum of genres, but they're mostly instrumentals or classical with a twist.

Here's a few examples:

M24 (Kara no Kyoukai): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pNaTzWanpQI

Sora to Umi no Shi (5 Centimeter's per Second): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2pQCfTRDN2A

Des Cordes: Opus 1 (Rebuild of Evangelion 2.0): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=huHA5ULPJ8c

Excuse the Youtube sound quality. Besides those, I enjoy old school hip hop, Asian pop of all kinds, and electronica. I listen to much more female vocals over male ones if that matters at all.

Thanks lots!

it does matters. i also listen only to anime music. from what i read there, the re262 are very good for female vocals, better than the dba02.
but you should ask in these 2 threads

I have both the DBA-02 and the GR07; I don't have the RE262 so I can't comment on it, but plan on getting it as my next IEM. Note that the RE262 will be the most power hungry of all three because of its high impedance. It will also only sound its best when properly amped, although I've heard it's not too shabby unamped.

When it comes to Asian pop, anime music, etc. the DBA-02 does a very nice job; it will be the crispest out of all three when it comes to reproducing synthesized chimes, strings, etc. because of its armature sound. It will likely also be the brightest of all three; it will sound bright to most people unused to an analytical sound for the first few hours of use, but its frequency response is such that you won't ever be intolerant of it. It will also have the most speed of the three (not saying the other two are slow; they are quite fast, especially for dynamic drivers), so fast electronic tracks won't ever sound off.

If you're concerned about vocals, the DBA-02 is not a forward IEM, but it should be okay. It's also more responsive to female vocals rather than male vocals. The DBA is tuned for music overall, and not necessarily voices. The RE262 is probably better for that as a whole.

Hm oh and I forgot to mention that I don't have an amp and I don't really plan on getting one. I guess that kicks the RE262 out of the picture, unless I'm mistaken,

Any other opinions.
