Hi. I have founded many praises of the IEM from Head direct re0 and it's siblings, but one thing I do fear is that I don't like the sound. So because it seems that head direct doesn't have any dealers in my area and reatails mainly through the internet, I would like to see if I could try something very similiar to the re0, re1,re2. And also I would like to know about the main difference between the 3 IEMs, right now I'm leaning to the re1 particularly just because it has free shipping.

Thanks

Don't lean towards something because of shipping.

I don't know about the re1s, but everything I've read indicates that the re0s and re2s are basically opposites.

Just look at the review threads for the respective IEMs and figure out which kind of sound signature is best for the type of music you listen to. People generally agree that ______ is best for _______ type of music, or if you are huge on the bass then you'll be able to read which one is best for you.

Well they have rather different sounds.

The Re2 is a very neutral IEM with good amount of treble , detail and soundstage but is rather bass light. The RE0 is a much more refined RE2 and improves on the treble and detail but not on the bass and so it remains bass light. The RE2 and RE1 are more or less neutral but with a slight warmth.

The RE1 are a bit more warm, have very smooth but not detailed treble with a slightly lush but very smooth midrange and more bass than the RE0 but not enough for bass lovers. However the main USP is the soundstage (when amped) as its far better than its siblings. The Re2 and RE0 are easy to drive unamped while the RE1s need an amp to sound their best.

I hope this helps.

RE0: Bright, detailed, airy. Likes amp

RE1: neutral, accurate, balanced. NEEDS amp.

RE2: budget detail phones, pride of the price point. Unamped.
