*Hides, as he used MusicMatch 8 to record .wav's at work*

They installed it for me, and it works well enough for me not to upgrade when the sound quality sucks like it does.

/me is converting to cd's: tapes that were recordings of old 45's.

That is an excellent price for a 40gb player. But 250g sure sounds hefty to me.

Hi,
The Lyra should be a great alternative for the expensive Digital Odyssy. 40 Gig is hugh storage. Sizewise, is it that much bigger than the iPod?

No Ogg Vorbis support? Drat.

I hope it has a really good way of finding your songs... with 40GB you're going to have a hellava lot.

EDIT: Ugh, having to run a program to profile your music every time you add songs? No fun. And no leave-off memory, even when it turns off when paused too long? Well, at least the Like Dislike listing is kinda neat.

And the guy in the article is wrong. MP3 always *adds* silence to the end of a file. It sounds like the player is trying to cut off too much to compensate that. (One more good thing about Ogg Vorbis, woo!)

People, this thing is made by RCA. There is a reason it is cheap. Nuff said.

40gb is a lot for some people, but my NJB3 holds 60gb now and that's only enough for half the collection on my PC.

but I am sure 40gb is more than enough for 98% of consumers.

it's a good deal for $285 if you need that kind of capacity. It's about the same price is as a 20gb Nomad Zen.

Did you even read the review to get an idea of this device? I would say it is very good for that price. Speaking of useless comments.........
