Ray Samuels' Stealth is quite a head amp. But the other day, the sound faded out and wouldn't come back. Slightly concerned, I sent an email to Ray Samuels Audio explaining the problem and what I had done to try to fix it. Within 24 hours (probably 12) I had a message on my phone machine from Ray wanting to personally help me. It is a good feeling when the guy who owns and runs the company personally follows up on customer service related issues. Once I got back to Ray, he was able to help me solve my ploblem over the phone in about 2 minutes: there was a blown fuse. Ray told me I could get them at Radioshack and gave me the info I needed about the fuse. The next day I picked up the fuse ($2.50 for a pack of 4) and was up and running again.
The Stealth is a great sounding head amp (I still have not used it as a preamp, though I have heard good things), and it is good to know that someone like Ray stands behind it.

Cheers,

That's the great thing about being a small business. You actually get to talk to the designer and he takes the time to respond and make sure everything's a-ok. Although it would be good for him I would be sad on the day that RS Audio gets so big that you end up talking to customer service. "Did ya plug it in?"

Having bugged Ray a number of times via e-mail and phone calls, I just have to say this: When you buy a Ray Samuels product, you are not just buying a fine amp with impressive sonic capabilities, you are also getting super excellent service to go with it. That alone is worth the price of admission.

This is so true. I've always received great help and service from Ray.
Here's a recent example:
I bought a Stealth and was having a problem I couldn't figure out. It was a very strange and difficult to explain problem. Ray tried to help me over the phone but we couldn't figure it out.
Ray's solution? "Let me send you another one by fedex tomorrow."
It arrived, the problem remained and was finally traced down to my power amp. Both Stealth's were fine. So was Ray's service. Quality product, quality service, quality guy.
CPW
edit: BTW it sounds awesome as both a headamp and especially as a preamp. If you need both functions you cant go wrong.
