I do not know if I would go that far Moose. But it certainley surprised me as I was expecting another Willis buddy buddy smartass film. He does get dark and dirty in this one which only leaves one with the question of how good his career could have been if he had had better management. On par with his performance in Pulp Fiction and actually a lot better than Bronson's take in the original. I would go 8 on this one. It succeeds by miles where Equalizer failed miserably.

Oh exactly, I gave it the extra points just because of it being a style I liked. Revenge movies have a special quality for me. I’m sure I rated it too high. Many may avoid it due to thinking it’s a regular Willis movie, good point.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (6/10)

This is going to be a rant rather than a review because the movie sucked.

This franchise is getting worse and worse, getting down to the level of the Transformers franchise (both surprisingly produced by Steven Spielberg). Steven Spielberg produces two of the trashiest franchises in the industry now, and that what came of his career. I guess prime for people is when they are young/aspiring/motivated, and then takes a dive when made a name for themselves or just old.

Unless they do a decent job, no reason to draw this franchise out any more. Beyond Micheal Crichton, there is no real story.

Movie started out ok with good cinematography, showed homage to the original (which is easily the best and an innovative film), and then when I found out what the plot was really about, it just went down hill. Worst of the series, and probably the killer of the franchise.

I like Chris Pratt as a actor (It's rare to find actors developed in character today compared to back in the days when stars were really shining), and him being in such a crappy movie is disappointing. There's real potential in this franchise and they just handle it so poorly. It's upsetting just like the Star Wars franchise.

finally decided to watch that DVD you guys made me buy. The World Fastest Indian is a lovely movie indeed, and Hopkins carries the movie with enough talent to make me have a good time despite the drastic lack of boobs and sword/gun fights.
seriously, I'm completely biased in favor of good guy Tony, so I can't claim impartial judgement. but the rest of the movie is also well done IMO. I'd go with a 10/10.

Solo: A Star Wars Story (7.5/10)

Wasn't as bad I was expecting. Story doesn't bring anything new to the Saga, it just seems some made-up/added bs to Han's background (only in 2hrs span of the movie trying to bring the characters background, that's a crunch). Just didn't bring much originality(Disney is riding on the original trilogy), but it was alright for entertainment value. I think Ron Howard's directing was good, but probably the production support wasn't the best.

I've also noticed this with Rogue One, and the world built by the production is too relatable to our world. You know the silly Casino scene from the last Jedi?

No one can really replace Harrison Ford, and the original Star Wars production. Original Han Solo character development is not matched here, and will be difficult without Harrison Ford.

Woody from Cheers is a good actor, and I think Ron Howard probably knows how to bring out acting skills. Donald Glover is good as well. And the poor fellow had to try to be Han Solo as best that he could.

Just look at the poster below (we all are familiar with that Han Solo pose). They riding on the original trilogy.

Ocean’s Thirteen.......miles ahead of Ocean’s Eight. I really think this 2007 movie was shot on film. Nice contrast and amazingly well filmed. The acting is great too.

Seems like just last year that this 2012 movie “The Dark Knight Rises” came out. Seeing it for the first time in 4K is a unique experience to say the least. Many don’t like the movie, but for me it’s simply fantastic. Underneath the script lays a multitude of social commentaries for those who care to speculate. Many feel the dark somber emotional starkness is not needed, though it seems to emulate what few modern Batman comics I’ve read. Again for me it’s the best of the trilogy and maybe my favorite Batman? The soundtrack is simply amazing and stands on it’s own if you seek it out. Seeing the top notch photography goes one step farther to make this a modern classic, considering it really hasn’t aged yet. It’s slighly more lively than the Batman before it, and better made than the Batman that came after.

I haven't seen any batman movies apart from the Nolan ones and the one with Arnold as Mr Freeze.

You would maybe like the first three. But many don’t like the modern Batman movies. I actually don’t hardly like superhero movies all that much. The early Batman movies had character. Much of the time folks who don’t like the late Batman like the early films.

"Anthropoid" [8.4/10]: The under-appreciated story of the secret Czechoslovakian operation, codenamed "Anthropoid," to assassinate Reinhard Heydrich, who was largely responsible for the the formulation of the "Final Solution," during World War II. The performances were admirable, and the production aspects of the film were realistic. As the story unfolded, I was riveted to the screen. It was clear to me that the movie was made with a passion to tell an important story that has been largely relegated to the footnotes of history.

same here. ironically what fails for me is that it's not nonsensical enough. I adore the old batmans because really nothing makes sense, the good guys, the bad guys, their funny crazy plans and behaviors. and the movies pretty much added weird unrealistic stuff on top of each other. I really like that. but when they start trying to make it all serious, the very concept of the batman falls apart IMO. and now contradictions in the movie just look like massive failures to make a proper scenario, instead of being just one more nonsense in crazyland where people will do weird stuff anyway so it's ok.
The Dark Night Rises could have been a good mission impossible, where you get why they have cool toys, but where they don't mind using them as Jesus intended. I mean if batman doesn't kill bad guys, why does he have giant machine guns on every single vehicle?
as for the getting out of the hole thingy, it pissed me off sooooo much. they could have made something where only a kid can stand in a small place or needs to be that lightweight not to make something collapse or whatever. but no, it's all about jumping far enough, and we all know that world records in athleticism are all made by little kids. it is known... those strong dudes at the bottom never stood a chance to get out.
I like batman as a weirdo in a city of weirdos doing really weird stuff for weird reasons.
