so i was inspired by valentines day to make a love song mix. i had no idea how many love songs i actually had hidden away in corners of my library.

i wanted it to be loosely tied to love, and to cover a wide variety of emotions spurring from love.

Beck - lost cause
george harrison - give me love
the doors - love street
gillian welch - dear someone
the velvet underground - i found a reason
bob dylan - i threw it all away
jeff buckley - last goodbye
bob marley - no woman, no cry
van morrison - tupelo honey
townes van zandt - if i needed you
led zeppelin - all my love
bonnie prince billy - hard life
etta james - i just wanna make love to you
billy bragg and wilco - california stars
donovan - colours
bob dylan - lay lady lay
ben harper - please me like you want to
jerry garcia band - love in the afternoon
bob dylan - standing in the doorway
cat stevens - the wind
jesse sykes and the sweet hereafter - love me; someday
billy bragg and wilco - remember the mountain bed
bob dylan - if not for you
townes van zandt - i'll be there in the morning
the rolling stones - dead flowers
johnny cash - give my love to rose
the doors - blue sunday
tom waits - coney island baby
sufjan stevens - to be alone with you
marissa nadler - bird song
johnny cash - walking back to you
unknown - the banks of the ohio
neil young - till the morning comes
john lennon - love

I picked pack up and go home, because you cannot have a love song mix without atleast something from Barry White in it.

Seem to have a lot of Heartache type songs on there. You should think about adding some songs from 'the Queen is Dead'.

I really like the inclusion of the tracks of Nashville Skyline. It is one of my top 5 albums. You should really consider adding some tracks off of Pet Sounds though.

Waiting for the day (when you can love again)
Don't talk (put your head on my shoulder)
God only knows
Here Today

How about some Leonard Cohen?

Velvet Underground 'Pale Blue Eyes'?

or some flirtatious songs like:

Dandy Warhols 'Bohemian like you'

i know its long, but i only listen to it in itunes or from my ipod so fitting on cds doesnt matter. its actually really nice to have 2 hours of uninterupted music.
