I find the Encore delivers these impressions because it has a leaner lower-midrange and a more prominent upper-midrange. This leads to a stronger sense of clarity and transparency, but I think the Zeus has slightly stronger resolution and a more natural tone. The Encore is more exciting and lively, also because of its bass. Now that I think about it - based on your experiences - you might actually like the Encore; why don't you give it a shot.
Yeah, based on what I've read I might really like its signature indeed. I doubt I would find it technically better than Zeus XR though
Now, what's an impression worth, when you don't add that line in the end. I guess our person of interest for this month is @Kerouac

Erik, did you know that Encore has already begun their BF sale with a 20% discount? So it's $1480 and plus, it comes with a free Noble Savant.
Oh well...

Even less than $1480 if you put the Savants for sale afterwards. But...don't you dare looking at poor Ozzie now :scream:

Ozzie may like in ears, definitely doesn't like over ears (I'd hate to send him for a mold for customs, though...)

too bad that @flinkenick decided to audition Katana in his shootout, maybe Encore could have gone higher like number 6 or 7 ? which is not so bad after all

me, i am glad that i have the number 2 ciem (Zeus XR) and at a price that cost me way cheaper than Katana/Encore

luck favors the bold ones i guess

Based on how much importance Nic put on warm, natural treble, I doubt even Encore would have gone much higher than Katana. It took something insane like A18 to win a high seat in this shootout, while also possessing bright treble.

Anyone here use a mini UV dry box for cleaning in-ears? Is it OK so far for using with IEM?

*secondary info, havnt tested myself
i was told by a manufacturer that its safe to use, but keep in mind clear/white acrylic yellows when exposed to sun often,
not sure if caused by UV

interested to know also, have been considering hearing aid driers as well

Also, people forget that the S-EM9 and NT6pro are both technically excellent as well as engaging iems, that have been long-time favorites - ranked at 11 and 10. The bar was high :)

Beat me to it.

Several manufacturers (like Jomo for example) recommend using one, but a friend of mine once broke his CIEM incorrectly using a dry box. Apparently, he inserted his CIEM upside down, and the acrylic/sound tube deformed somehow in the box. It led to major channel imbalance.

Thought a drier is only needed for silicon IEMs, though I might be wrong.

what happens if i:

balanced out->2.5mm TRRS balanced (male) to 3.5mm (female) adapter-> 3.5mm 3pol iem?

do i just get more power without the separation?

You'll short two live lines together and fry your amp.

Go for it. :D
