My financial conditions only allow me to rank
Headphone, Car audio, and Home stereo, but if I got a lottery, it will change the other way around

My humble headphone collection give me a glimpse of high quality audio. I like my home setup, it's kinda warm and nice, but not refined in the high and low end. My car stereo is the one that gets more listening time but I'm never satisfied of its sound. The first two system have spoiled me very badly....

my sole criteria for judging will be based on satisfaction, not dollars spent:

1) home stereo
2) headphones
3) car stereo (stock unit, but still decent)

While I know I could drastically improve my home setup, I rarely (maybe never) feel disappointed with my home speakers. My headphones never seem perfect; they may be amazing at times, ok other times, and sometimes dissatisfying. My car stereo: a toosup between great, ok, and blah. I guess it depends on the album, the sonic characteristics I want at the time, and the volume. But hey, the stereo came with the car, and didnt cost me the frightening amount headphones have. Damn, I really really dont want to get into car audio...

Let's see, I don't own a car and I don't have a home stereo. That kind of narrows things down some

To avoid tainting the results (ranking my headphone setup against non-existant car and home audio systems) I didn't vote in the poll.

Well, I don't own or drive a car, so I didn't vote in this poll.

At any rate, my current speakers (Paradigm Titans) aren't as good as the best headphones, relatively speaking - but they're much better than the crappiest headphones in my current collection.

Happy listening,

My PM4.1's have better sound than my KSC-50's (gee, what a surprise!). I really hate my car audio system. Horrible sound and bad distortion with...oh wait...I don't have a car...
