Hi,
I’m new to DAP.
Are you ranking them? So Shozy has two in your top 5 list?

Thanks!

Yes, this is my ranking based on sound quality alone. Shozy daps are really good in that regard with very organic and engaging sound.

They are extremely barebones however when it comes to usability. Alien gold doesnt even have a screen and has high noise floor which is audible with low impedence iems.

Alien+ has a screen and audible noise problem is resolved but it's still hard to use. For example you can't fast forward track, only skip to next song and battery last around 4 hours.

How far behind would you say the ak70 is to the qp1r?

How far behind would you say the ak70 is to the qp1r?

Depends on synergy of your headphones with qp1r or if you can live with it's strange sound.

Ak70 is smooth, warmish and full bodied with good but not great technicalities like resolution, dynamics etc.

QP1R has better technicalities but midrange is very in your face, bass is emphasized and kinda slow. The soundstage feels unnatural with clearly marked borders so you feels like youre always sitting in the same room.
