All,

Anyone trying to contact me for any reason may not be able to do so for several weeks. I apologize for this. We are having internet and phone problems on the boat. I apologize for the inconvenience. I will be back on line just as soon as these troubles are corrected.

Thanks,

Bob

Actually, when I returned to the ship from the Internet Cafe, the system is now miraculously working; for how long I suppose is the question!

I look forward to hearing your impressions of the 4070's. I am using the HE 60's mostly since the SRM-727 is weak on my 4070's.

As always, it's good to hear from you. I need to visit Norway again one of these days. I went to Hammerfest years ago and had a blast, although, I must admit it was the coldest place I have ever been!

Cheers,

Bob

PS Keep your fingers crossed that the system will continue to work!

Bob, with all that excellent kit I'm sure you'll find some way to ride it out,

By the way, I have to agree. You're out of touch.

Great to hear that its up and running again.
Hopefully it stay that way when you go out to the open sea as well.

The 4070 have been used for soon to be 2 weeks, so I guess they are ready for a comparison against my other 'phones. I suck at writing reviews, but I will try to scrabble down some lines this afternoon.

You should definitely come visit Norway again.
I highly recommend one of the western fjords during summertime. Totally different to the cold north (ex. Hammerfest) during wintertime.

Those are awesome pictures. I can't wait to come back there. I will let you know when I do. I work in the Middle East, and always come through Europe on the way home. My next trip home will be short, so I will just be spending one night in Zurich on the way home, and then again on the way back (Dubai).

I sailed through some of the fjords when I was in the Navy (when I visited Norway), and they were majestic. Thanks for sending the cool pictures.

Bob. You find my 4070 impression in the Stax thread (direct link).
I agreed with 'Carl' on almost everything he have written about the 4070. So found no need to repeat what he had previously written, and ended up with a relative short write-up.

I have never heard the 727 (or 717 for that matter), but find it strange that you have to turn the volume all up with the 4070. While I can barely listen above 4/10 on the volume meter on my 007t. It gets freaking loud!
Maybe its source related? Ex, that my Electrocompaniet ECD1 (balanced) put out a higher signal level than your source...

I tried two different sources using XLR and RCA inputs. Maybe it needs a visit to the doctor.............thanks for your input.
